Every great love story has its origins, and ours began in the tailgate fields of IU back in 2012. At a mutual friend's party, we crossed paths, blissfully unaware of the incredible journey ahead. Fast forward to 2020: on a fateful fall evening during the COVID era, Katie stumbled upon Braxton on Hinge. What started with some playful teasing quickly turned into plans for our first date at Kilroy's in Downtown Indy—a nod to our IU roots and a shared love for those legendary breadsticks. Life had its twists and turns, but everything fell into place in May 2022. While enjoying the excitement of the Indy 500 from the infield, Katie texted Braxton, asking if he was there—knowing full well he hadn't missed a race in well over a decade. We reunited at the race and celebrated our “last first date” at The Dugout the following day. This time, everything clicked, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. Our journey has been filled with adventures—traveling, celebrating holidays and birthdays, enjoying karaoke nights, cheering on the Colts and Pacers, watching thrilling IndyCar races, and attending countless concerts. In June 2023, we took a big step, creating a home together with our two beloved dogs, Beans and Biscuit. After dozens of “proposals” during various photo ops, Braxton finally popped the question for real on December 9, 2023, right where it all began at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. As we embrace this engaged life, we continue to grow together, eagerly anticipating our big day on May 2, 2025, surrounded by our closest family and friends. We can’t wait to say “I do”!
