What do I wear?

Church Ceremony: For the church ceremony, we kindly request that guests dress in attire appropriate for an afternoon Catholic service. This simply means semi formal and what many would consider typical wedding attire. Reception at Stubb's: For the reception at Stubb's, we invite you to dress in your most fabulous David Bowie-inspired party attire. Think sequins, glitter, rhinestones, tulle, fringe—anything that sparkles and makes you come alive! This is your chance to get creative and show off your style. * * * Comfort is Key * * * As it'll be the end of September in Texas, we want everyone to feel comfortable and ready to dance the night away. Keep in mind that the weather might be warm, so opt for breathable fabrics and consider layers that can easily be shed as the evening heats up. Since the reception will take place at a concert venue with a dirt floor, footwear is definitely something to consider. Choose shoes that are not only stylish but also practical for walking and dancing on uneven terrain. Whether it's sneakers, sandals, or comfortable boots, find footwear that suits your style and keeps you comfortable throughout the night. Are kids welcome?

Absolutely! The more the merrier! We adore children and warmly welcome them to join in the celebration. Our wedding is a family-friendly event, and we look forward to sharing the joyous moments with guests of all ages. Feel free to bring the little ones along for a day of love and laughter!

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

CEREMONY: A parking garage is available for all guests. It is located West of Guadelupe on San Antonio and MLK. It is right across the street from The Otis Hotel. RECEPTION: The reception takes place in downtown Austin where parking is very limited. There will be no valet service or provided parking available. We have been told to encourage all of our guests to Uber/Lyft to the reception.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

No, we won't be providing transportation. We encourage everyone to use ride-sharing services like Uber or Lyft for convenience. If you have any questions or need assistance in planning your transportation, feel free to reach out, and we'll be happy to help make arrangements.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes we do! In fact, we have included them on this very website. Please see the Travel tab for recommendations and room blocks. We have limited room blocks with a discounted rate. However, there are a lot of great places to stay in Austin. Airbnb/VRBO might be a great option for some groups. Our reception venue, Stubb's BBQ, is located downtown, and there are many hotel options around there as well. * PLEASE NOTE THAT U.T. HAS A HOME GAME VS. MISSISSIPPI STATE THE SAME WEEKEND AS OUR WEDDING. TURNS OUT, PEOPLE REALLY LIKE U.T. FOOTBALL AND ARE BOOKING HOTELS WAY IN ADVANCE...BEST TO BOOK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

What is the schedule for the wedding day?

Answer

2pm Ceremony at Saint Austin's Catholic Church: Join us for a beautiful Catholic ceremony at St. Austin's where we will have a Liturgy of the Word and exchange vows to celebrate our love with family and friends. The ceremony will begin promptly at 2pm, so please arrive a bit early to find seating. ~3:30-5:30pm Intermission: Following the ceremony, we'll be taking a brief intermission before the reception festivities begin. This will be a perfect time for everyone to rest up, grab a bite to eat, and change into their party outfits. 5:30pm Reception at Stubb's: Get ready to party in style at Stubb's Wallercreek Amphitheater! The reception will kick off at 5:30pm, and we can't wait to dance the night away with all of you. Be prepared for an evening filled with music, wild outfits, drinks, food, and dancing!
