Weirdly enough, our first word was the same: "Barbie". While Martina's love for all things girly was clear, Brantley's connection is more obscure, he had a family cat named Barbie (after bbq). This coincidence speaks to the unexpectedness of our deep connection. While we spoke those words continents apart, years later our paths would cross more than a few times. We’ve been in the same friend circle for years thanks to the oddly specific Walt Whitman High School to Syracuse University connection. While we both have different memories of the first time we met (Martina swears it was at a birthday happy hour, Brantley is sure it was at our friends’ engagement party), it was the pandemic that truly brought us together. Shoutout Hinge, facetime, and social distancing! After our first date, on an unusually warm November day in Rock Creek Park, we realized that maybe we were meant to meet again. Fast forward 3 years, 3 apartments, & 1 Calvin later, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate with all of you!
