How We Met

October 2015

We met at work through our internships with Dick's Sporting Goods in Pittsburgh, PA. However, we started to get to know each other at first through a work lunch, where Justin just so happened to find a seat next to me and tried to flirt with me the entire lunch, with both of our bosses sitting on either side of us! Despite being bright red and blushing, I couldn't help but entertain Justin's efforts and ended up giving him a chance for a first date. We knew right away that this was something special, and it was only a few weeks before we said "I Love You." On our 4th outing or so, Justin even jokingly proposed to me at a bar in front of all of our friends! Little did we know, he would have done it again 4 years later for real!

How He Proposed

November 2019

Our engagement was truly a dream come true. I had been away for work during our 4 year anniversary, so we were unable to celebrate until I returned. Once I got back, Justin casually mentioned that he was able to find a "tour company" which transports people by boat from Miami Beach (where we live) across the bay to a restaurant called Zuma at the Epic hotel in Downtown Miami. When we showed up to the marina, I quickly realized that this was no tour company, but instead a private yacht. When I started to ask questions, Justin came up with every lie possible to keep me from catching on and it worked! We embarked on a beautiful boat ride across the bay while drinking champagne and taking in the sunset. When the perfect moment came with the beautiful sunset falling behind the Miami skyline, Justin asked to take a photo with me. When I stood up to take the photo I turned around to find Justin on one knee, which resulted in many happy tears and one big yes!! This special moment was captured perfectly as Justin had even hired a photographer that was disguised as a crew member on the yacht. After the big moment, the yacht continued making its way to the Epic hotel, where another surprise was waiting. Although I thought we were still going to dinner at Zuma, I was surprised yet again to find our families waiting at the dock with lots of food (and alcohol) so that they could join us onboard to celebrate our engagement. After cruising around with our families for another two hours, Justin told me that we were going to "continue celebrating" by going to our favorite rooftop bar in Miami. When we all showed up, all of our friends in Florida were waiting in a private section for yet another surprise celebration and we ended up partying all night! What I thought was going to be a quiet dinner turned into the most magical day of my life. Justin truly did the most amazing job coordinating and planning the greatest night of our lives and one that we will never forget!
