How we Met

Almost 12 years ago I walked into the New Richland bar on New Years Eve, hoping to get a drink and watch the ball drop on my way home from work. Little did I know that I was walking into my future. ♡

The place was packed as my sister and I pushed our way to the bar. The bartender studied us the whole time. I thought he looked familiar but couldn't quite figure out why. When it was finally our turn, he surprised me with a series of aggressive questions/ accusations. "Your best friends name is Lachelle, isn't it?" "I know you" "You're a good dancer." ...confused, excited and a little creeped out, I shake my head yes. He says... "YOU SLAPPED ME! You're the only other women to slap me other than my mother." "You're name is Brandy!" ...cluelessly reviewing my memory, I respond with a " Well, you probably deserved it." Laughing because he knew it was true, he formally introduced himself as Kaleb Jacobson then he moved onto the next thirsty patron. After that we exchanged a couple friendly glances and little small talk, I had all the feels. We drank champaign, rang in the New Year and then I headed for the door. I look back to wave goodbye.. Kaleb and I made eye contact, smiled and just as I was about to leave I hear a women (soon to be MIL) say "The bartender doesn't want you to leave". Of course my first move was to call Lachelle and figure out some details and after that it all came rushing back to me. Spuds Ranch... 2007... Dance Floor... a lot of beer and a song called GET LOW! Kaleb and I were getting very familiar with each other as we danced on that beer soaked dinning room floor. Everything was great until the moment I got LOW and Kaleb got a little too fresh for my liking. I met him with a hand to his face and that was that. We said some choice words and went our separate ways. Who would have thought... 3 years later I would walk into a bar and Kaleb would remember my name. Something was telling me to go back and find him so a couple months later on February 12th, I returned to New Richland and the rest is history. I asked Kaleb what he thought when he saw me again. He said "I knew I wasn't going to let you leave without my number"
