Things To Do

There's so much to enjoy around DC - we've made some recommendations of areas we like to visit and things we enjoy doing.

National Mall

Washington, DC
, (202) 426-6841

See all of the monuments and memorials between the US Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial by walking up and down the National Mall. The Mall serves as a great landmark to visit the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, WWII Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and Martin Luther King Jr., Memorial. You can also visit the Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Thomas Jefferson Memorials if you're willing to walk a little further around the Tidal Basin!

Washington Monument

2 15th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20024
, (202) 426-6841

Take an elevator up the Washington Monument to get a bird's eye view of DC. Tickets can be obtained day-of on a first-come, first-serve basis, or by booking online up to a month in advance.

Lincoln Memorial

2 Lincoln Memorial Circle Northwest, Washington, DC 20002
, (202) 426-6841

Visiting the Lincoln Memorial is a great early morning or evening activity (when temperatures are coolest and the crowds aren't as big).

Smithsonian National Zoological Park

3001 Connecticut Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20008
, (202) 633-4888

The National Zoo is free of charge and is one of the oldest zoos in the US. We highly recommend stopping by the giant panda exhibit!

International Spy Museum

700 L'Enfant Plaza Southwest, Washington, DC 20024
, (202) 393-7798

This museum is close to our venue and offers a great experience for both adults and kids. It's also conveniently located near the Wharf, where you can walk to grab food or do some shopping!

Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum

600 Independence Avenue Southwest, Washington, DC 20560
, (202) 633-2214

One of the best of the Smithsonians, the Air and Space Museum is a crowd favorite for both adults and kids. Just be sure to plan in advance and arrive close to opening time so you don't have to wait too long to enter!

National Archives Museum

701 Constitution Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20408
, (202) 357-5000

If you're a history buff, this is a must-see in DC. The National Archives house a copy of both the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence and an original Magna Carta!

Union Market

1309 5th Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20002

If you're looking to get out to a different part of the city and try some new/different foods, Union Market has over 40 different local vendors.

Eastern Market

225 7th Street Southeast, Washington, DC 20003
, (202) 698-5253

Eastern Market has both indoor and outdoor vendors and a local farmer's market on the weekends. We've found some really cool antiques here!

Georgetown

Washington, DC 20007

There's plenty to do in Georgetown - walk the old historic streets, shop on M Street, visit Georgetown University, try a European-style bakery, or enjoy the waterfront park! You can even get more of our Cupcakes from Baked & Wired!

For all the days along the way
