In the Spring of 2019, Abby and Bradley both made A+ grades in the Principles of Accounting course at Appalachian State University. All students that made an A+ in the Principles course were rewarded with a special dinner in the Student Union. Abby, an accounting major signed up for the event to hear more about accounting and fellow students returning from their internships - genuinely interested to hear more. Bradley, not so much. Bradley decided to attend the dinner because who passes up a free dinner in college? Bradley and his best man, Grant Lunsford, walked into the ballroom and took a seat with some of Grant's classmates sitting across from Bradley was the most beautiful person in the world! Bradley even had to take a 10-minute breather outside the room to catch his breath and hope to make a great impression on this lovely girl! Bradley's first impression may not have sealed the deal, but it opened the door to friendship. Fast forward six months, the two friends began going on dates and quickly envisioned a future that included each other.

On October 23, 2021, Abby and her family were in Boone for what Abby believed to be a "family weekend." Instead, it was a "Bradley trying to join the family" weekend. Abby's family made the trip to Boone and helped get Abby to Jumpinoff Rock the morning of the 23rd. Abby was so happily surprised! Meanwhile, friends and family worked tirelessly to help bring Bradley's proposal plan to real life. Friends found cameras, transported tables, and set up the proposal site to make this day so special. Such a fun weekend together with family and friends! As most people know, Abby doesn't leave people behind, so her whole family joined the hike! Every time Bradley would try to distance himself and Abby from the family, Abby would slow down to include everyone. Finally, arriving at the overlook, Bradley proposed to Abby, and they celebrated on the overlook with friends and family. After celebrating on the overlook, we went to Valle Crucis, where more friends and family awaited to celebrate. This day holds much significance in our lives, and it would not mean the same without the generous love and sacrifice friends and family made that weekend! Thank you!
