Bradley and I met August of 2018 in Nashville, Tennessee. I was going to nursing school at Belmont University, while also working at Luke Bryan's bar on Broadway. Bradley was visiting Nashville, from Louisville, for his brother's bachelor party. All the boys were there for a few days and decided Luke's was the place they wanted to party it up on their last night in Nash. My friend, Shelby, and I had just gotten off work and decided we were going to eat dinner at Luke's and hangout for the night. Long story short we met the lovely Martin clan. Bradley, who was shy as a mouse, sat and stared at me the whole night, consistently telling me how awesome I was... it was like a broken record on repeat! The cutest thing. Haha! We were all instantly friends and they insisted we come to Adam's wedding. We told them if they remembered us the next day we would consider coming... (I could have bet money that they would NOT remember us). But little did I know, sweet Bradley texted me the next day and continued to insist that I come up to Louisville and celebrate with them. BUT, I totally chickened out! Who in the world in their right mind would drive up to another state to go to a wedding with a guy they met on Broadway! Not this chica. I was lame and totally ditched. That wasn't the end for Bradley though. He continued to text me and call me and we became really awesome friends who instantly clicked. He ended up convincing me to come visit Louisville and the rest is history. To this day he tells me he loved me at first sight. From the moment I shook his hand and said, "Hi, I'm Maddie, what's your name" to the moment I grabbed his hand at 2 AM and said "I know a great place we can go eat cheeseburgers" (always starving after a late night out, don't hate). It was never weird, there was never silence... we were best friends instantly. Two people who just simply understood each other to the core. He swept me off my feet and I'm the luckiest girl in the world because of him.
As soon as I laid eyes on her, I knew she was the one. We were immediately best friends, lovers, soulmates, and honestly, she's the yin to my yang. I was head over boots for this little lady and wanted to make her mine forever, so I started looking for a ring! I recruited some of my family; Morgan, who is my cousin, Jane who's my aunt, and my mom. So, the wheels were in motion and I had them helping me do some research. I found the ring, which I knew she would love, it was beautiful, elegant, and right up her alley. In the coming months, I planned to propose on the 11th floor overlooking the beach. It was a surprise so we're all pretty frantic that day. The plan was to make her think we were going out to eat at a nice restaurant. But we had one issue, Maddie was looking, "beachy," to put it nicely, and didn't have plans to shower. So, my mom, wanting Maddie to look her best because I was about to PROPOSE, insinuated to Maddie she should take a shower because she stinks lol. That did the trick. Afterward, I asked her to come upstairs with me when she finished getting ready, to get my cousin. Maddie says, "Ok! I'm going to grab Adam so he feels included!" Adam was Morgan's new boyfriend, who knew I was going to propose upstairs and they were all going to come up afterward. Maddie being her generous funloving self insisted that he come with us and so like any respectful gentleman, he followed suit and tagged along and followed behind us. Adam and I kept looking at each other in the elevator laughing. Maddie still had no idea. We made it to the 11th floor and walked into the room where the Taylor Swift song, "Lover" was playing in the background. We walked out onto the balcony and all went as planned. I'll never forget the waves were crashing and the sunset was slowly setting in the distance creating the most amazing moment in my life and I was overcome with so many wonderful emotions. I get to be with the love of my life forever.
