We met at my uncle's pizzeria in Little Silver, New Jersey. I came to NJ from Montana to visit family and work at their restaurant in the summer of 2013 and Brad had just happened to get a job there around the same time that I started working. We spent time together for most of the summer and when it came time for me to go back home to finish my senior year of high school, neither of us wanted to say goodbye. Brad offered to drive me back to the airport and the last thing he said before I got on the plane was "I don't exactly know what this is, but I know I don't want it to end" and it never did. For the next two years, we were in a long-distance relationship. I graduated from high school and joined the army. We saw each other 4 times over the course of those two years and finally, in 2015, after completing my army training, I packed my bags and moved everything to New Jersey to be with Brad.
For my birthday/ Christmas present, Cheyenne got me a long weekend trip to Niagara Falls, Canada which I had been talking about wanting to see for years. Cheyenne had the whole trip planned for the two of us. Now, I did not know this at the time, but everything in Canada is basically closed in the winter. As if proposing wasn't bad enough, all of the places I wanted to propose, (the boat, the zip line, the lower observation deck) were all closed for the winter. My plan A, B, and C, all got thrown out the window in a matter of seconds. We went on a tour underneath the falls and when we resurfaced back to the top, I took Cheyenne over to the edge to the prettiest spot of the falls and I started to pull out the box and get down on one knee. Now as I was getting down the first thing Cheyenne said was "no no no what are you doing" then when I asked, of course, she said YES!
