Cookie Table

The Wedding Website of Jocelyn White and Dane Bowden
If you are from outside the Pittsburgh area, you may be asking "What in the world is a cookie table and why are Dane and Jocelyn asking for cookies?" A cookie table is a wedding tradition in Pittsburgh. Pittsburghers don't talk about how good the food was or how fun the dance floor was but rather how big and delicious the cookie table was. Now, why are we asking for cookies? Typically, the bride and groom's families get together to make cookies before the wedding (moms, sisters, grandmas, aunts, cousins). Since our families are mainly in Pennsylvania and Mississippi, we aren't able to uphold that. We are asking our loved ones to bake one dozen cookies in honor of us. They can be anything that you love to eat or a beloved family recipe. The only catch - you need to bring the dozen 1-2 days before the wedding so we have them to set up. Question

Is this required?

Answer

No, it is totally optional to bring a dozen. But the more cookies, the merrier!

Question

I can't bake. Can I just buy cookies?

Answer

Yes!

Question

I'm coming from out of town and worried TSA will snack on my cookies.

Answer

Do not worry about bringing cookies - this is all 100% optional. However, we could always package and mail them if you want to bring some but are worried.

Question

What kind of cookies would you like?

Answer

Anything you want to bring. Some popular cookies are lady locks, pizelles, and thumbprints.
