Cookie Table
If you are from outside the Pittsburgh area, you may be asking "What in the world is a cookie table and why are Dane and Jocelyn asking for cookies?"
A cookie table is a wedding tradition in Pittsburgh. Pittsburghers don't talk about how good the food was or how fun the dance floor was but rather how big and delicious the cookie table was.
Now, why are we asking for cookies? Typically, the bride and groom's families get together to make cookies before the wedding (moms, sisters, grandmas, aunts, cousins). Since our families are mainly in Pennsylvania and Mississippi, we aren't able to uphold that. We are asking our loved ones to bake one dozen cookies in honor of us. They can be anything that you love to eat or a beloved family recipe. The only catch - you need to bring the dozen 1-2 days before the wedding so we have them to set up.
