Our paths crossed in 2007 when I started to work as a barn hand at Smiling Hill Farm. Originally, Adam and I would torment each other: He would leave sawdust barrels empty for me and I would tease Adam about his "indestructible" cell phone. It wasn't until I started to work in the Dairy Store, that I attempted to charm Adam with food just so I could see him, but Adam was oblivious to my feelings. It wasn't until 2011 when we rekindle our friendship because I texted him "Nice butt!" when he was working at the KPS shop. Only then, Adam realized that I liked him. From there, we started to spend time together but we weren't official yet! It wasn't till Adam's Mother, Jane, asked "Are you going to ask her to be your girlfriend yet or what" at the annual New Hampshire company outing in January 2012 that Adam decided it was time to lock me down!
It was a Monday morning before the sun was up, I was confused as to why Adam woke me up at 4:30 a.m. when he knows I work nights. He told me to dress warm and insisted that I move with haste. It wasn't clear yet why he dragged me out of bed or where he was taking me. As he drove towards Westbrook, I guessed that he was taking me to work but I was so very wrong! He parked in the CVS parking lot off William Clarke Drive and we waited for what seem like a half hour. It wasn't till I saw a goofy red pick up truck with a basket mounted to the back that I knew he was taking me on a hot air balloon ride! It has been on my bucket list of things to do for a long time, even though I am scared of heights! We did some field tests with the pilot to see where we be able to take flight from and determined we were lucky enough to take flight right near our home! We assisted with the setup of the balloon, filling it with hot air (which surprisingly wasn't from Adam's head!). Before, we knew it we were taking flight! As we ascended, we saw the neighbors cows and an aerial view of our home! Shortly after we flew over our home and acquired some altitude, Adam took my hands in his and said, "So today we've been together for 2,282 days and incase your wonder that's almost 40 cat years. And today I'd like to ask you to be my best friend and my fur-ever". I had to say YES, otherwise they were going to dump me out of the balloon! We are so excited to share this next chapter in our lives with you!
