We're getting married!

Bonnie and Patrik’s first loves were their sports- Patrik being a dedicated hockey player and Bonnie a strong softball player. Ultimately, it has been their love for their sports that brought them together and continues to shape their growing relationship. Bonnie and Patrik first met in 2017 at American International College both on scholarships to play their sports at the collegiate level. They actually met early one morning on the shuttle to the gym, while the rest of the college seemed to be sleeping and recovering from parties the night before. Bonnie knew from the beginning that Patrik was unique, and didn’t seem to fall into the stereotypes she held about “hockey guys”; he was kind, thoughtful, and intensely dedicated to his sport. It has been that same work ethic and dedication they both have to their sports that has helped Bonnie and Patrik build a strong foundation for their relationship from the beginning. Shortly after that first interaction, Patrik asked Bonnie on their first date (which happened to also be on his birthday!). From that November in 2017, they knew they were starting something very special. Supporting each other through the ups and downs of college sports while also prioritizing finding time together definitely solidified how important their relationship was to them from the beginning. As they continued to get to know each other, they bonded over their similar senses of humor, love for trying new things, and expanding on their wellness knowledge. They are both highly independent people with strong passions and interests which allows them to be the best versions of themselves both together and apart. They knew long distance would be a huge challenge, but they found ways to make it work. After the first year of dating in college, Bonnie began to visit Patrik in the Czech Republic and Patrik would return to the US early before the Fall semesters to spend time with Bonnie and her family. While the distance has been a challenge for the two of them, they always found time to connect and plan when they would be together again. After graduation in 2020, Patrik received the offer to play hockey professionally in Litvinov, Czech Republic. Bonnie graduated AIC in 2021 and decided to continue her studies receiving her Master’s Degree in UX design at Rutgers University in 2023. Bonnie has now joined Patrik in the Czech Republic and works remotely while Patrik continues his professional hockey career. MORE WEDDING DETAILS COMING SOON!
