We're getting married!

We are so excited to share this special day in October with all of you. October has been a special month in our relationship. We met in October 2019, got our dog Pinot in October 2020, moved in together in October 2021 and it couldn't be more fitting to get married and celebrate with all of you this October in 2024! Prior to meeting, we had so many family and friends who played meaningful impacts on our lives and who helped make us who we are. We wouldn't be at this moment without all of you and so excited to celebrate with all of you.

Melissa and Steve met for the first time in the fall of 2019 and despite some early scheduling conflicts for their first date, once they met they quickly began spending all of their free time together. Early dates included dinner, drinks, mini golf, concerts, comedy club, wine tastings, picnics in the park, exploring the Cherry Creek North area and a trip to the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. Despite not meeting until 2019, both Melissa and Steve grew up in the Colorado area, Melissa growing up in Centennial CO and Steve in Longmont CO. Both attended Colorado State University (Go Rams!) and studied at the Business school (Melissa in Accounting and Steve in Finance/Economics). Both also lived in the same general area from 2015 until meeting in 2019 as Steve lived across from the Gates Tennis Center (Tennis being one of his primary passions the prior 20 years) and Melissa just east along the Cherry Creek and Steve's daily route to the office.

As so many around the world were impacted in Spring 2020, Melissa and Steve found themselves five months into dating and did their best to continue to grow their relationship while adapting to the new reality they found themselves in. Early on it included nightly dinners at each others places and going on long walks around Denver on the weekends and watching and rewatching any tv shows we could find. The important lesson during that time was the we learned we could enjoy large quantities of time together.

In fall 2020, a year into dating, we had the opportunity to add a Labrador puppy to our relationship. We have enjoyed watching him grow so quickly and he's been an important part of our daily routines and activities. Mr. Pinot loves to play ball, visit the park, car rides and most of all loves his grandparents. Even if he is sound asleep in the car he knows when he is approaching their houses. He is also a bit of a prankster (we are not sure who he gets that from... Steve), ever since he was a puppy he would wait until we'd bend down to pick something up and stealthily pull the glove out of your pocket and parade around with it, so proud of himself. He also prides himself on stealing toys from our neighbor dogs houses and yards, all of which end up in our basement (I guess his cave?)

Since the limited traveling opportunities in 2020, we have been able to travel together and share some fantastic experiences together. Our first trip together was spring of 2021 where we are able to visit Napa California. It was a beautiful time to visit, the wine was fantastic and due to pandemic restrictions we were always very spaced out at any venue we attended. This was an important step in our relationship and to get back to be able to travel and take trips together. After this initial trip we kept up the momentum! Below is a list of some of the locations we were able to visit. - Carmel (Summer 2021) - New York (Fall 2021) - Las Vegas (Winter 2021) - Santa Fe (Winter 2022) - Omaha (Spring 2022) - El Salvador (Summer 2022) - Oregon coast (Summer 2022) - Phoenix (Spring 2023) - Rome (Spring 2023) - Albuquerque (Fall 2023) - Phoenix (Spring 2024) We look forward to all that will come ahead and in particular our honeymoon which will take us to Fiji, New Zealand and Australia (where Melissa did study abroad in college).

Melissa and Steve were engaged June 16th 2023 at Crestmoor Park in Denver CO. Steve surprised Melissa while walking Pinot at the park with her sister Jessica and brother in law Jon. Pinot loves Jon! After surprising her with a collection of pictures that followed our relationship, Steve proposed and she said "Yes!" That brings us to today and we are excited to celebrate with all of you as we tie the knot this October.
