It was a night like any other. Friends, laughs, inappropriate photos at the dinner table. We ended up back at Jonathan's place in his room; Javi playing guitar and singing. Glen said he saw it first, "something changed, I could tell the way he was looking at you." Allie was visiting from New Jersey. We were all awkwardly laying on the floor. Javier looked at Jon and said "Jonnycakes." "Why did you call me that?," he asked. "I don't know?," Javier replied. "My mom used to called me that.," Jonathan reminisced. It was time to go and Javier got up to leave. Jonathan decided to walk him to the car. Something polite and proper to do when someone visits, nothing more. "We hugged, I think we have hugged before, but this time it was different. This time when we hugged it felt like time froze for a second. When he let go I drove away confused. I got home and wondered, "what was that?" I thought to myself, "you could text him and ask if he felt something too? If he didn't then you'll just look stupid, which you already do anyway right? Add an emoji thats a good buffer or an lol." - JC Then Javier asked himself a question that so many of us are familiar with. "What's the worst that can happen?" He figured if anything it would be weird for a little bit, they wouldn't talk for awhile, never mention it and maybe one day things would go back to the way they were. He didn't really think much further than that. Instead he texted him. "Next time I might have to kiss you goodnight." Jonathan replied "Next time I might let you." I think its funny before we take risks we always seem to stop and ask ourselves, "what's the worst that can happen." What if next time we want to take a risk we pause and ask ourselves instead. "What's the best that can happen?" "Even if I would have asked myself that question 2 years ago, I never would have imagined that the best thing to ever happen to me to date was texting me back 4.7 miles away." - JC
