Things To Do

Charlottesville has so much to offer and explore! We hope you will fall in love with the town just like we did. Some of our favorite destinations in the area are listed below, along with some local D.C. recommendations if you want to take advantage of the long weekend and visit the nation's capital during your trip.

Shenandoah National Park

282 Skyline Drive, Waynesboro, VA 22980

Trails like Humpback Rocks and Turk Mountain are about 45 minutes away from town. There is a fee to enter the national park but the Blue Ridge Parkway is free.

Carter Mountain Orchard

1435 Carters Mountain Trail, Charlottesville, VA 22902

You've gotta try the apple cider donuts!

Monticello

1050 Monticello Loop, Charlottesville, VA 22902

Home of Thomas Jefferson - here you can test your historical knowledge and admire the architecture.

Bold Rock Cidery

1020 Rockfish Valley Highway, Nellysford, VA 22958

With so many different flavors of cider, this place will be sure to have something you enjoy.

Devil's Backbone Brewing

200 Crandall Run, Roseland, VA 22967

Their flagship beer, the Vienna Lager, is a must try!

Pollak Vineyards

330 Newtown Road, Greenwood, VA 22943

There are so many gorgeous vineyards in the area to check out, including this one with a gorgeous pond and view.

Farm Bell Kitchen

1209 West Main Street, Charlottesville, VA 22903

Delicious brunch!

Renwick Gallery

1661 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20006

D.C. has endless museums to choose from, but this is one of Sarah's favorites.

Union Market

1309 5th Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20002

We used to live close by this market and would grab food from 2Fifty Texas BBQ, coffee from Unido, records from Byrdland, and books from Politics and Prose all the time. Lots to explore in this area!

International Spy Museum

700 L'Enfant Plaza Southwest, Washington, DC 20024

Fun for the whole family! If you like James Bond, you will love this museum.

Blagden Alley

Blagden Alley Northwest, Washington, DC 20001

Blagden Alley is a trendy stop for good food and fun cocktails. Be sure to grab a reservation at Tiger Fork, and stop by Calico for cocktail pouches!
