We are asking that all guests be vaccinated by the wedding or have a negative Covid-19 test within the week of the wedding.
Many areas have free PCR testing available, both walk-in and by appointment. These are the more accurate tests, but it can take up to 4 days to receive your results. You can also do an at-home rapid antigen test, which is slightly less accurate but more convenient. We are happy to cover the cost of an at-home test (about $20-$35), so please reach out to us if this option works best for you. We recommend one of these two at-home tests: https://www.cvs.com/shop/abbott-binaxnow-covid-19-antigen-self-test-2-tests-for-serial-testing-prodid-550147 https://www.cvs.com/shop/ellume-covid-19-home-test-digital-results-in-15-minutes-prodid-431742
Please bring a mask to wear on the bus ride, in the bathroom, and if the ceremony gets moved inside. We will have extra masks in case you forget.
Yes! Pending weather, of course. The ceremony will take place on one of the lawns, and the reception will take place under a permanent, covered, open-air pavilion. We would only have to cover the sides of the pavilion or move indoors if there is severe inclement weather.
James Monroe's Highland is a 15 minute drive from the Downtown Mall.
Please let us know if you can make it by August 18th, 2021. Click on the RSVP tab on our website!
We will be providing a shuttle bus to and from the venue. The bus will pick up and drop off guests at the Home2 Suites in the downtown area. You are also welcome to Uber or drive. It's a bit of a drive from the main Charlottesville area, so there may be a limited number of Ubers/ride-shares available to pick you up. But if you want to drive, there is a bunch of available parking at James Monroe's Highland.
No, there are many other hotels and Airbnbs in the area. These usually fill up quickly, especially in the fall in Charlottesville, so it is best to book them as early as possible.
