Caleb and Becca first met in August during a volleyball open gym with other people from their church. Taking note of each other, but not really saying anything, Caleb would then ask Becca to join his competitive volleyball league later that month. She said yes right away-- something completely out of the norm for each of them, but very much in God’s control and with his perfect timing. That simple question of: “Do you want to play volleyball?”, then spread into “Would you want to go hiking?”, “Join me at the Young Adults Ministry?”, “Go mini golfing?”, and so forth. The hangouts kept coming, and the feeling of wanting to just be friends soon spread into something more. After a few of these first "hangouts" (or dates as all of our friends/family later informed us), Caleb asked Becca to be his girlfriend in October that same year. Excitedly, she said yes, but...Caleb would need to talk to her dad...who was out of state at the time. Nearly a week later, Caleb finally got to have "the talk" and it was official. Over the next year and four months, Caleb and Becca shared many adventures, learned to grow as a couple, and experienced the love that their parents always prayed they'd find. The two are a couple of peas in a pod--sharing many of the same interests, likes, dislikes, and similar personalities. Even their family members have commented on how well-suited the two are for each other, so it was no question when Caleb got down on one knee what the answer would be. February 17, 2024, Caleb brought Becca back to the place of their first date, Matthiessen State Park, and asked her to be his wife. Without a second's hesitation, Becca said "yes!" and ran in for a hug. It's a moment they'll never forget, and one they are so excited to repeat on June 7, 2025. ~~~
