Blakely and Brit met for the first time on July 3rd, 2017 on the Wright City Rodeo dance floor. Brit approached Blakely and asked her to dance as soon as they made eye contact, and they only danced with each other for the rest of the night! A few months later, they became good friends during their junior year of high school while both being in KTC's Pre-Engineering Program. Blakely would pretend to need help on all of her math homework just to have an excuse to talk to Brit because she never would admit to having a crush on him. Brit claims he always had a crush on Blakely, too, but neither one of them told each other that until they got to college. After high school graduation and Blakely's year spent in the U.S. Army, Blakely and Brit reconnected at Oklahoma State University in the Fall of 2020. They were inseparable friends for 9 months before Brit *finally* asked Blakely to be his girlfriend on April 5th, 2021. Brit and Blakely dated for 2 years and 11 months before getting engaged on March 20th, 2024 at The Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado. Visiting National Parks is one of their favorite things to do together, so Brit thought it would be the perfect proposal with just the two of them. The 2017 version of them would be so confused at how they ended up in love 7 years later, but Brit and Blakely are truly a testament to God's timing being the best!
