Blake first saw Priscilla at their church's small group, HOLA, Thanksgiving party. Blake was instantly captivated by Priscilla's smile, and was eager to get to know her more. A month later, Blake and Priscilla officially met at their mentor's wedding in December of 2022. After a long and awkward handshake, Blake went home eagerly asking for Priscilla’s friend request on Facebook. Immediately, Priscilla knew something was fishy. At first she was hesitant, but she quickly realized there was “no harm” in becoming facebook friends. The holidays soon came around and Blake took this as an opportunity to message Priscilla and get to know her better. Soon after, Priscilla messaged Blake that she was just interested in friendship. Although Blake was disappointed, the Lord was teaching him to wait patiently on His perfect timing. In this time, God reminded Blake of His many truths and Blake held on to those. One of these including Psalms 27:13, “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and courageous. Wait for the Lord.” Blake continued to attend HOLA and talked to Priscilla’s mom every Sunday, along with attending Wednesday night choir rehearsals. Blake also asked Priscilla's mom to give him Spanish lessons. As the weeks went by, Blake and Priscilla’s mom grew closer together and became more honest with their conversations. After much prayer on Blake’s part, the Lord opened a direct conversation with Priscilla’s mom in which she asked Blake why he was truly attending HOLA. Blake described that he attended HOLA because he truly enjoyed the lessons and friends he made, but he made it clear that he wanted to get to know Priscilla. Priscilla’s interest was still unclear, but the Lord was slowly opening her up to the relationship. After a lot of prayer and discernment, March 18th, Priscilla texted Blake signaling that she was interested in getting to know him more. After many years of looking to the Lord for guidance, He provided as He always does- Jireh! Blake and Priscilla first met in person after a few weeks of constant texting. They met at a local coffee shop in which they also did not stop talking for the entirety of the date. Priscilla was still a little timid and scared at the prospect of dating, but was open to meeting again. On April 5th, 2023, Blake and Priscilla went to eat with Blake’s best friends and their girlfriends at the time. Blake noticed and loved how easily Priscilla became a member of the group. That night when everyone shared their testimonies and prayed with one another, Blake fell in love with Priscilla and knew he wanted to spend his life with her. Priscilla went home and knew that Blake was very special. They were committed. Blake asked Priscilla’s parents for permission to date their daughter on April 14th. After many months of prayer they were official! From then on, they grew closer and learned together how to navigate a relationship with God’s help. It did not take Priscilla long to realize that she too loved Blake. Just a few short weeks into the relationship she confessed her love for him. He quickly replied by confessing his love for her also. They did not slow down over the next few months. On September 14th, with the help of friends and family, Blake surprised Priscilla by proposing on a pleasant and rainy evening. Priscilla excitedly said, "Yes!" We are beyond thankful to God and His everlasting faithfulness, and can't wait to celebrate our commitment before God with all of you. With much love, we hope to see you very soon. B+P 🤍
