Brigitte and Blake ran into each other at a local restaurant. Brigitte was out to dinner with her mom, aunt and cousin while Blake was out to eat with his "crew". Brigitte was already seated when Blake walked into the restaurant where they both caught each other's eye. Needless to say that "first" glimpse of each other was the start of their spark. After they ran into each other that night, Blake soon decided to "add" Brigitte on social media platforms, where he "slid right into her snapchat" (hello 21st century dating). In the meantime Brigitte and Blake messaged back and forth for the next couple of weeks. Finally, on a Friday afternoon (May 14, 2021 to be exact) Brigitte asked Blake to "stop by" as she was going over to a friend's house for a typical every Friday evening gathering. Brigitte was nervous how the night would go; however, Blake did indeed "stop by" and they hit it off. Lets just say from that night the rest is history. Of course, Blake being the sweetheart that he is, wanted to make this "thing" official after they both met each other's folks. On June 7, 2021, Blake came over to Brigitte's house with fresh flowers that he picked out of his brother and sister-in-law's yard and a note saying that he wanted to make them official. Brigitte and Blake still cannot wrap their minds around how they have so MANY of the same mutual friends and were at many of the same functions, however never met each other. They believe this is fate and couldn't be any happier meeting each other when they did.

Brigitte knew from the first night that she met Blake that he was most definitely "the one" for her. Blake knew very soon after meeting Brigitte as well that he wanted to marry that girl. They spent the whole next year having OBX weekends, Sunday fun-days on the river, ski trips to Colorado, cheering on the Braves' opening day in ATL, singing the nights away in Nashville, teaching Brigitte the farm life (even letting her drive a few tractors here and there), attending many of their friend's weddings and making many happy memories with each other and their families. Fast forward to a whole year later Blake wanted to cook steaks for dinner on a Tuesday night, which happened to be June 7, 2022. Well, this night was not just a random Tuesday night as Blake realized he couldn't wait any longer. Brigitte was at her house prepping for dinner, and Blake came in as any normal night asking how her day was, etc. Blake went out to start the grill and came back in with the same fresh flowers that he picked from his brother's yard again and a sweet note. This time he told Brigitte to face the counter and read the note. At the end of the note Blake wrote "p.s. turn around" and when Brigitte turned around Blake was on one knee. They were both so excited that night they didn't even finish making dinner as they went to tell their parents, siblings and Grandmothers. They had the most fun and special week going around to their close friends houses and Face timing dear friends to share the news.
