Sarah and I’s story of how we met is unique. Unique in being the only one of its kind? No. Meeting your significant other through dating apps is actually becoming more and more common nowadays. Unique because it was so obvious that it was orchestrated by God. It was in God’s timing. It was God’s plan and it was an answered prayer. The timing couldn't have been more perfect. I was at a time in my life when I was ready to throw in the towel and be a single guy for years to come. Little did I know, God’s plan was different. And that’s what makes it so unique. I want to share our story of how we met, to share that God still answers prayers. Big time. It was just a normal Friday afternoon at work, when I got an alert on my phone that I had gotten a match. And boy was I pumped after seeing this smoking hot babe interested in a stud like myself. Like any other guy would do, immediately I went into this mode of panic and started telling myself, “don’t screw this up”. I’ll spare you the details of our initial conversation, but let’s just say she thought I was pretty smooth and I wasn’t going to argue that. We started out with a little bit of flirting of course, but immediately thereafter dove into deep conversation. And I mean deep. We shared all of our desires in life. We discussed all the important aspects of life, relationships, our faith, and our family. It didn’t take long for me to realize there was something so different about Sarah and I knew right away, I have to do whatever it takes to get her off this app before competition comes. To this day I am not sure what I did, but whatever it was, it worked. We moved fast after that. Our first date took place at Bread Winners on the patio! That night was definitely one I will never forget, and I’m sure Mr. and Mrs. Bina won’t either. 😊 That’s a story for another time though.
Following our first date, I remember running and telling my parents, family, friends and coworkers she could be the one. I was in search of my wife, and I had such peace and excitement that I had potentially found her. It wasn’t until after our second date, which took place at Top Golf, in which I knew without a doubt I wanted to marry this girl. Shortly after that, we were parked at Baja Mexican Grill about to get dinner when I was listening to Sarah talk about something she was upset about. As I sat and listened, I love you slipped out of my mouth in the middle of her talking. She immediately forgot about whatever it was she was upset about, and with a huge smile she hugged me as tight as she could. I couldn’t contain myself anymore and I had to tell her. I was beyond ecstatic to have come across such an amazing human being like Sarah. Was it pretty fast into the relationship? It seemed to be. But the thing is, I had so much peace within. I knew God had his hand on this relationship and I was all in. The rest is history. Sarah stole my heart right then. I had so many people praying over my life for my future and for my wife, especially my mom and nana. I had prayed many many times asking God for someone just like Sarah. A woman of integrity, love, passion, and faith. A woman with a loving family that loved Christ and treated me as their own. And God delivered just that. I am forever thankful for all the prayers, but also for God’s faithfulness. I have such joy in knowing that I get to spend the rest of my life with Sarah next to me.
