How We Met

A rough take off and a smooth landing

We first met in our Advanced Research Methods class during our Junior year at CSU. On the first day when we took our seats I scanned the room and saw Billy, and I decided right then that he was the guy for me. We were then randomly paired together for a semester long group project. "This is great!" I thought, but things didn't start out too smoothly, I would go home every day and complain about how annoying I thought he was. Then one day my roommate looked at me and said "I think you just like him". So she made me ask him on a double date, and I, of course was too nervous to send the message so I threw my phone at her and made her send that first message, she also had to read his reply for me. He agreed to it, but only because his coworker told him to. He got in the car on our very first date smelling like burgers (he worked at a restaurant, he wasn't just a weirdo who liked to smell like beef) and I was so nervous I barely said a word the whole night. We went bowling and to a movie, and even through my awkward behavior he ended asking me out for a second date, and the rest is history.

The Proposal

A Gift to Remember

Every year for our anniversary Billy gets me an ornament for our tree to remember the year we've had. This year (12/05/2018) he put my box in my stocking, I pulled the box out while still facing away from him. I took the ornament out of the box, it was a beautiful crystal heart placed atop a snowflake. The ornament read "Our first Christmas after she said Yes!", I quickly turned around with tears in my eyes to see him down on one knee. It was absolutely perfect! We ended our third anniversary with dinner and a play.
