The proposal almost didn't happen! On Melissa & Billy's drive to the Sawtooth Wilderness in Idaho Thursday July 26th, they got caught in backed up traffic for over an hour due to a wildfire that was burning on the side of the highway. They were already running behind schedule getting to their destination at the trail head of Sawtooth Lake where they would hike 4.5 miles up to their campsite for the evening. They finally reached the trail head around 4:30pm and a ranger stopped them and advised there had been reports of a fire at the lake and advised them to not start up until it was found and contained. 20 minutes later the ranger gave them the go ahead to head up to the lake. It was the quickest and the most beautiful 4.5 miles they have ever hiked! After quickly setting up camp and Billy losing daylight, he told Melissa he wanted to go take some pictures by the water before it got dark. She walked to the edge of the water and Billy said he was changing the light settings on their GoPro. After what felt like several minutes, Melissa turned around to find Billy on one knee asking her to spend the rest of her life with him. And the rest is history!
