It was a cold Sunday morning in February, Bill & Emily had been messaging the night before while Bill was out with some friends..... Bill was eager to set their first date sooner than later so he landed himself a first date with Emily at Owens Bagels in Charlotte, NC. The date was going so well they had gotten caught up in conversation that neither of them realized how much time had passed until they watched the bagel shop closing up that afternoon. They both knew there was something very special happening here other than just the bagels, which led to Bill asking for a second date just a few days later (where he ended the night with their first kiss under a street lamp in Plaza-Midwood)...... A few years later after many dates, home cooked meals, hikes, trips and laughter Bill & Brooks (Bill's Dog) couldn't imagine their life without Emily & Breyer (Emily's Dog) so Bill decided to ask Emily to spend forever together in front of an iconic lighthouse at sunset in Portland, Maine.

After Bill & Emily bought their first home together in the summer of 2021, Bill knew there was only one more thing to do to make their home complete..... After picking out Emily's ring he decided to be a little sneaky and plan a trip to Portland, Maine with Emily that January where he would pop the question. After days of research and some tips from Emily's father he had the perfect spot picked out for the big moment! They landed in Portland and after a few hours of stalling to await the perfect sunset, Bill & Emily drove out to the lighthouse to go for a "walk" as Bill described it. This is where he had an undercover photographer waiting to capture their special moment. After a short walk in freezing temps, Bill found a small overlook with the lighthouse in the background and proceeded to drop to one knee and ask Emily to be his forever love.....she of course said "yes"!!
