Hotel
This is not part of our hotel block, but if you're looking for an affordable option, this is our favorite budget hotel. The lobby has free snacks, soda, tea, and coffee, and lots of open space to work and lounge. It's also a short walk from one of our favorite restaurants, BMK Paris-Bamako. It's convenient if you arrive via Eurostar, it's a short walk from Gare du Nord. You're also next to Gare de l'Est, which takes you directly to/from Charles de Gaulle Airport and connects with many Metro lines.
Travel Note
Flight costs to Paris vary; we have flown for $600/person, but they can be upwards of $1,200/person if booked late and/or during peak summer months. We recommend booking travel soon. We are *big* fans of using Google Flights for affordable international travel. Once you access the link, we recommend: 1. Inputting your departure and destination details 2. Exploring the best dates for your travel 3. If the prices are green, that's a great rate! 4. If you aren't seeing prices that are quite right, search for your dates 5. Once you see the list of prices, click "track prices for your dates" 6. Google will send you an email when prices decrease or increase. You may also want to explore if flying into London or other European cities is cheaper, exploring for a few days and then flying to Paris using budget airlines like EasyJet. You can also use apps like Hopper or use credit card points!
Travel Note
To travel to France, you will need a valid passport. Processing times for renewing or receiving a passport can take up to 6 weeks or more. Please ensure your passport is valid for at least three months beyond the date of departure.
Travel Note
Paris has an extensive train system, and we highly recommend walking where you can or using the Metro to explore the city! It is often the most reliable and quickest way to your destination. You can buy booklets of tickets or purchase a Navigo card, which can be added to your digital wallet. Please note: While the Metro has elevators and is wheelchair accessible, you will encounter escalators, lots of walking, and stairs. Uber is available in Paris and very easy to use if you need a rideshare service.
