Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

Our wedding will be a formal event. Gentlemen are requested to wear a formal suit. Ladies are invited to wear an elevated dress. We look forward to celebrating this special occasion with everyone dressed in their finest!

Question

Where is the wedding taking place?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be held at The Nantucket Hotel. The ceremony will start promptly at 4:30. We ask that all guests arrive at least 30 minutes beforehand to settle in and enjoy the pre-ceremony festivities. Weather permitting the ceremony will be outside, so please plan accordingly. Cocktail hour, dinner and dancing to follow at the hotel in the ballroom.

Question

What is the best way to get to Nantucket?

Answer

Nantucket is accessible by ferry or plane. Ferries run from several locations, including Hyannis, Harwich, and New Bedford. The Hy-Line Cruises and Steamship Authority are the two main ferry services. The trip from Hyannis usually takes about 1 hour. Parking is available at the ferry ports to leave your car on the mainland. Ferry tickets and parking should be planned at least 1 month in advance. There are also flights available from major cities. For those traveling by air, Nantucket Memorial Airport is a short drive from The Nantucket Hotel. Uber & Lyft are available on the island. We recommend arranging your travel early to ensure a smooth journey.

Question

Do I need to bring my car to nantucket?

Answer

We suggest not bringing a car. Most visitors find that they don't need a car on Nantucket and can get by with alternative transportation methods. However, if you prefer the flexibility of having your own vehicle, just be prepared for the additional cost and logistical considerations. Exploring the Island: Nantucket is relatively small (about 30 miles long and 10 miles wide), so you can easily explore it by bike, scooter, or even on foot. The island has a robust bike rental system and many scenic paths. Public Transportation: Nantucket has a public bus system called the Nantucket Regional Transit Authority (NRTA) that can take you to various parts of the island. There are also taxis and rideshare services available. Car Rentals: If you prefer the convenience of having your own vehicle, you can rent a car on the island. There are several rental agencies in Nantucket Town, but it’s a good idea to book in advance. Parking: Parking in Nantucket Town can be challenging due to limited space and high demand. If you bring your own car, you'll need to find parking and might have to deal with limited or costly parking options. Ferry Considerations: If you decide to bring your car, you'll need to make reservations on the ferry that allows cars, such as the Steamship Authority. This option is more expensive and requires advance planning.

Question

When do I need to arrive?

Answer

Nantucket is far away for most of you, so we suggest you make the most of the weekend! We invite everyone to join us on Friday afternoon 6/6 from 4-7PM at Cisco Brewery for our welcome party. There will be light bites and drinks. The wedding itself is on Saturday 6/7 starting at 4:30PM.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We will be having our ceremony and reception at The Nantucket Hotel. If you choose to stay at The Nantucket Hotel there is a 2 night minimum. Rooms are offered at 10% off. Guests should call the reservations office at 508-310-1734 and reference the ' Jones Obermayer' wedding to book a room. Don't forget to book early if you would like to stay here. The hotel is very accessible to downtown Nantucket if you would like to make other accommodations and walk over! There are many beautiful hotels in walking distance and you can also book AirBNBs. Prices will increase throughout the year, so we encourage you to book early!

Question

Will transportation be provided to the venue?

Answer

If you are staying at The Nantucket Hotel, you will be conveniently located on-site for the event. Shuttle service around town and to beaches are complimentary for Nantucket Hotel guests. Ferry pickups and drop-offs can be scheduled with the concierge or front desk. For guests staying elsewhere, The Nantucket Hotel is located downtown in walking distance of many other hotels. Uber & Lyft is available on the island.
