12.31.19 In the parking lot of Ponaks in Kansas City we first laid eyes on each other. Due to the watchful eye of Sophie, Jessica’s youngest sister, this was a planned meeting months in the making. After a few margaritas and a large Joe’s pizza to seal off an amazing night we made plans to see each other again. The trips up and down I29 began. Weekends filled with trips to Bar K, meals with families, weddings with friends. The love grew fast and strong. Lucy, started joining in on the trips to Omaha as well as the nightly face time sessions. 8.3.20 We took our first trip together, a road trip to Arkansas for some hiking. Jessica had expressed some interest in going on a hiking trip after enjoying a few in Colorado. Chad understood the assignment, planning a fully packed trip of new adventures. This trip sparked a mutual interest to continue these road trips and exploring together. We have now gone to multiple National Parks including Arches, Canyonlands, Zion, Mesa Verde, Capital Reef, and Grand Canyon. Our biggest and most prized accomplishment was a one day 22 mile Rim to Rim hike on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. 12.31.21 Just as we began, New Years Eve at Ponaks. Jessica thought they were meeting her family for an early dinner and drinks with no big plans for the night after. Right there in the parking lot upon arriving Chad began to ask. He pointed to spot in the parking lot and said, "Right there 2 years ago today I saw you and I knew I was going to spend the rest of my life with you." Things get a little fuzzy from there but luckily Chad had thought of everything. Near by Jessicas' friend Lyndsey was snapping away catching every moment. After of course saying YES! We were off to Boulevard Brewery where close friends and family had gathered to congratulate us and celebrate. Following the celebration Chad had booked dinner for us at Capital Grill on the Plaza and we rang in the New Year at the Intercontinental hotel.
