Question

What airport do we fly into?

Answer

The closest airport to fly into for our resort is Liberia Guanacaste Airport (LIR) in Costa Rica. From there, the shuttle transportation is about an hour and a half drive to the resort. Once you book your room through our travel agent, Toni, can arrange your shuttle transportation once you have your exact arrival and departure information. Please feel free to reach out to her at Toni@ParadiseFoundTravel.org or (856) 552-0406.

Question

Can I make payments for my stay?

Answer

Absolutely – there’s a deposit of $250 per person due to book, but you can make additional payments at any time up until the balance is due (April 15th).

Question

What's included in my stay?

Answer

Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica is an all-inclusive resort, so all your food and drinks (non-alcoholic as well as top shelf spirits) are included at 8 dining options, 5 bars, 24 hour room service, in-room mini bars, and beach and pool service. Non-motorized water sports are also included (snorkeling, kayaking).

Question

What's NOT included in my stay?

Answer

Gratuities and spa treatments aren’t included. Also, airfare isn’t included. (Air pricing for August 2023 will be released in the next week or so – I’d be happy to assist any guests with their air.)

Question

When should I have my passport by?

Answer

A passport is required to travel to Costa Rica. The normal processing time is usually about 6 weeks - sometimes it's shorter, but sometimes it's longer (depending on when you apply - it can be longer in the winter with people applying in anticipation of summer travel). Please copy and paste the link below for info on how to apply: https://travel.state.gov/.../en/passports/how-apply.html Also, if you currently hold a passport, check the expiration date. Your passport must be valid for three months past your expected arrival date into Costa Rica (so if it expires before November 2023, you'll need to renew). I usually recommend SIX months on your passport, as many airlines require six months validity. Lastly, you do not need to have your passport now to book your stay! You can leave the passport info blank on the reservation form and give our travel agent the info as soon as you receive it. Please contact our wonderful travel agent, Toni, should you have any questions! 856-552-0406, Toni@paradisefoundtravel.org

Question

Trusted Traveler's Programs

Answer

From Toni at Paradise Found Travel: There are a couple of government programs that can make travel much easier. ➡️ TSA Precheck: Think of TSA Precheck as an advance security pass. A TSA PreCheck “stamp” on your boarding pass marks you as a low-risk traveler. It means that you can use the PreCheck lane at the airport and can go through security without removing your shoes, liquids, or electronics from your carry-on luggage. You can take advantage of TSA PreCheck when flying in the US and on departure for international flights, but not in foreign airports coming back into the US. The TSA lines for PreCheck are typically much shorter and speed you through the TSA. Cost is $85 for five years - there's a quick online application and then an in-person visit to a PreCheck office for fingerprints. ➡️ Global Entry: A program of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection service that allows pre-approved, low-risk travelers to receive expedited clearance upon arrival into the United States through automatic kiosks at select airports. You process through Customs on your first entry into the US, so if you have a connection to make to your home airport, this will help get you through Customs really quickly. It has literally made the difference for me in making my connection vs. missing my connecting flight on a couple of occasions. Also, Global Entry includes TSA PreCheck, so you're covered domestically and internationally. GE is $100 for five years, but the application process is a little more involved and takes longer, and includes an in-person interview by Customs and Border Protection. Check out here which program is right for you: https://ttp.dhs.gov/ EDITED TO ADD: Some credit card companies cover the cost - I know Amex does - so check with your cc to see if this is one of the benefits!

Question

Are children invited to the wedding?

Answer

Unfortunately no children are invited to our ceremony or reception unless they are in the bridal party (flower girl & ring bearer). HOWEVER! One of the reasons we went with Dreams Las Mareas is for their wonderful daycare program located right in the middle of the resort. This way, our guests can turn this trip into a family vacation for the other non-wedding days/events if they would like.

Question

Can I get a connecting room for my parents to watch my kids while I attend the wedding?

Answer

Connecting rooms are available upon request for all of our guests but this it NOT a guarantee. If your parents are not on our guest list but are coming to watch your kids, we welcome them to book through our reservation form with Toni, our travel agent. You can make a request for a connecting room with Toni and she will do her best to accommodate this.

Question

Carseats for transportation

Answer

A few guests have asked about car seats for the transfer vehicle in Costa Rica, and I reached out to the transfer company regarding availability, extra price, etc. Their response: "There is no charge for the car seat, we have a few but it is important to know kids' ages, weight and height and you should request it with time in order to guarantee the service. There is no extra charge if client will like to travel with their own." They've also told me that we need to request it at the time I give them air arrival and departure times, so once we have your air information I can request a car seat for you. Please let me know if you have any questions about booking a car seat, or anything else! Toni@ParadiseFoundTravel.org 856-552-0406
