Ben proposed to Sarah on May 14th on a brisk Saturday morning. The night before he let Sarah know that he would be at her house at 5 am with a surprise adventure somewhere. Being a morning person, she happily agreed and early the next morning, they sleepily made their way to the surprise destination. On their way there, Ben told Sarah to cover her eyes so she wouldn’t know where they were going, and when they got there, she was surprised to be at her favorite beach where she’d spent countless hours, reading, singing, spending time with God. This spot had special meaning to Sarah. And she was glad to now share it with someone who had special meaning to her as well. Next thing she knew he was telling her how much he loved her, and how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her... Picture the most beautiful painting overlooking a color streaked morning sky and waves crashing below- That’s what this scene looked like. With this gorgeous sunrise as his backdrop, Ben knelt on one knee and asked Sarah to marry him. And though it was chilly, and sleep dust still in their eyes... She said yes. And the rest is history.
