Summer Crush to Long Distance Relationship

After meeting through our best friends, our personalities clicked. We messaged over social media for a month before having our first official date. "Where he asked me to be his girlfriend." – Reagan "And she turned me down." – Ben "I just wanted to get to know you better first!" – Reagan ....a month later we officially became a couple. The next thing we knew, we were visiting each other from two far-off corners of Texas where we’d meet each other's families and continue to fall evermore in love with one another. As fall began, Ben started his second year of studying linguistics at UNT, and Reagan moved to Alabama for ministry school at the Ramp School of Ministry. Our relationship quickly learned to blossom even from several states apart, and our dates consisted of Facetime video calls where we’d talk, draw, play video games, and watch movies. We’d even mail letters here and there and occasionally be able to fly out and see each other, but that was only once or twice. At the beginning of 2022, Ben had the chance to travel abroad to Spain for 3 months which even further put our long-distance relationship skills to the test. Between class schedules and 7-hour time differences, it was a work to get just a few moments together on the phone. Long distance was never easy-peasy, but through carefully planned dates, good communication, and leaving cute digital notes for each other, we believe it brought us closer together in the end. Our ocean-wide time apart was rewarded by a mere hour's drive when we both returned to Texas in the same week of May. Ben was able to live and work nearby during the summer, and the two of us were able to see each other on a near-weekly basis and grow as a couple all the more. Marriage was soon a far-from-taboo subject. Knowing that it was a matter of when rather than if, we continued on with the year with Ben returning to UNT for his last year while Reagan got a head start on adulting and saving, the both of us heavily anticipating when God would release Ben to make the move. By April of 2023, with college graduation and commencement from a Christian program we attended together drawing ever closer, Ben finally popped the question during a proposal cleverly disguised as an easter egg hunt. Hand in hand, we’re so excited to become Mr. and Mrs. Pulliam, where we’ll continue to love each other without condition and began a life that was meant for us under the beautiful binding of marriage. We know without doubt that — with Reagan and her beautiful love, heart of gold, intellect, maturity, and unfailing earliness to events accompanied with Ben’s beautiful love, spirit of adventure, drive, versatility, and curse of being late to everything — the two of us will love and care for each other until the day the Lord calls us home.

For all the days along the way
