The BeltLine is Atlanta's answer to the NYC Highline - a 22-mile loop of walkable / multi-use trails in intown Atlanta converted from former rail tracks. You can walk, scoot or bike the BeltLine from Piedmont Park (adjacent to the Loews) to Ponce City Market and the Inman Park area, finding tons of great restaurants, bars and views along the way! Highly recommended!
Just a short walk from the Loews you will find the beautiful Piedmont Park, perfect for a morning run or stroll. Around (but not in) the park, you can pick up a scooter and scoot around Midtown Atlanta and the Beltline!
The developers of Chelsea Market in NYC created this massive mixed use development in Atlanta's former City Hall East building. Join us on the rooftop here for the welcome party Friday night at 9 PM, and explore the restaurants and bars on offer including Nine Mile Station, Bar Vegan, H&F Burger, and more! 8ARM Izakaya across the street from the Market is one of our favorites and would be a great choice for dinner too.
One of our favorite spots when we're in Atlanta is this historic food hall further down the Beltline in the Inman Park neighborhood. This would be a great choice for dinner Friday or lunch on Saturday! Grab a beer from Hop City Brewery and do a loop to see the many awesome restaurants. Our picks include Ticonderoga Club for steak, Gu's Dumplings, Watchman's for seafood and cocktails, Fred's Meat & Bread for burgers, Superica for Tex-Mex, and of course, Jeni's Ice Cream :)
Across Piedmont Park from our hotels and adjacent to the wedding venue you'll find the historic and fun Virginia-Highland neighborhood! This is a great option for dinner on Friday night or brunch/lunch and shopping on Saturday. Take a walk and check out the restaurants, bars and shops lining North Highland Ave. from Amsterdam Ave. down to Ponce de Leon Ave. Don't miss the original location of Taco Mac, the misleadingly named wings and beer sports bar where Helen worked during high school and college.
Our Sunday brunch venue, Georgia Beer Garden, is located in the Sweet Auburn neighborhood in the heart of historic Atlanta. It's adjacent to Ebenezer Baptist Church, where Martin Luther King, Jr. was pastor, and the MLK Jr. National Historical Park and Museum - a must-see to learn more about Atlanta's history. The Beer Garden is a short 15-min walk or 5-min Uber to Krog Street Market, the Atlanta Beltline and the Inman Park historic neighborhood if you have extra time to explore! There are also lots of fun bars, distilleries (Old Fourth Distillery) and brewpubs (Biggerstaff Brewing Company) on the same street (Edgewood Ave.) as the Beer Garden.
