We met when Ben moved to Wyoming 8 years ago and began working as an on mountain photographer for our local ski resort. His first day on the job he was introduced to his fellow photographers as well as his new manager (me). After his first day, he decided that before the winter was over, he was going to take me on a date. He began by bringing me coffee and fresh cinnamon rolls from the bakery he worked at in the mornings, then leaving flowers on my car in the parking lot. I eventually decided to go on that date and never looked back.
The summer was coming to an end and our a good friend/owner of Black Dog Rafting Company asked if we wanted to take one more float down the Snake River while the weather was still decent. So a few of us piled into a boat and began our evening float down the river. About half way through our trip we pulled off into a small sandy area so that the guys could fish and the gals could pee. As everyone quickly dispersed into the woods, Ben pulled out his fishing pole and asked me to help him tie a fishing lure to his line. Standing there with a full bladder and no real knowledge of how to tie a lure, I told him he was on his own and starting looking for a tree to squat behind. He insisted that I help him with it so I decided I'd have to hold it, and turned back towards him, where I found him kneeling on the river bank with a ring in his hand asking me to marry him. After lots of hugs and happy tears, we piled back into the boat and popped a bottle of bubbly!
