Please see each event for suggested dress. Our wedding is outside (with tents) rain or shine, so no harm in bringing an umbrella. Also, Fable Farm is a working farm. You will be walking on grass, so you might consider leaving your stilettos at home.
There is no transportation for Friday, and Uber hasn't made it to rural Vermont yet. We encourage carpooling. On Saturday, we will provide shuttle transportation to and from the wedding from a central location or two in Woodstock and Barnard, stops TBD. (See Festivities page). Shuttles will also leave the farm to return to Barnard and Woodstock on the half hour (aspirationally) between 10 PM and 2:30 AM. We strongly encourage taking the shuttles, even if you do not plan on drinking or only drinking lightly.
We know many of you are traveling a long way, and we really appreciate it. We suggest flying into Boston and renting a car for the weekend. Boston is 2.5 hours away, Burlington is about an hour-and-a-half, and Manchester NH is 1.5 hours away from the area. There are many buses that go from Boston to Hanover or Lebanon, but you will likely need access to a car during the weekend.
Vermont in August typically gets into the 80s during the day and can drop as low as 50 at night. Rain and thunder storms are always possible, and the humidity will be much higher than our west coasters are used to. Dress for dynamic conditions! And bring a bathing suit for the lake.
Babies and children welcome! Our wedding is on a large working farm with no childcare on site, so you will be solely responsible for watching your little one. We ask that if you bring your child, a partner or caregiver be available to take them aside so as not to disrupt the ceremony.
