Ben and Ashley's favorite sushi restaurant. Start with some shrimp shumai and spicy edamame followed by the Boujie AF Roll and Joker Roll. Dont forget to wash it down wtih some SAKE! ...and maybe gelati celesti down the street for dessert..
Order the "Stella's Calamari" and Lamb Meatballs followed by any of their specials. Be sure to make a reservation WELL in advance. If you can’t get in, there are 3 other Stella’s Market locations. They all have great lunch options to go and the one on Grove Ave has seating outside and Meze happy hour!
Our other favorite Italian spot! This charming restaurant has the best focaccia bread and beans to start and we highly recommend their Kale Panzanella, Chicken Parm, Rigatoni Ragu, Spaghetti Limon, and any seasonal specials to share as a table. Their pastas are all homemade fresh daily and pair well with a rose margarita or Negroni.
An homage to our UofR “Sushi Sunday’s”! Both fortunate and unfortunate this is the first sushi I ever tried because anything less decadent does not compare. Same owners as lucky AF and same amazing sushi rolls with all the fun sauces. A little bit quieter than lucky AF and easier to get a reservation.
Walk around downtown and along the canal and end at this great Mexican place or lunch or dinner! Be sure to glance at the ceiling-just about every birthday we had in college was celebrated here and tequila bottle purchased, signed/decorated and saved in the ceiling.
Start out at brunch at lunch/supper and then plan a day outside hopping around breweries (Veil is the grooms favorite), wineries (Brambly Park), “barcade” fun (tang and biscuit, circuit, slingshot), and grab lunch or dinner at spots including Pinkies, Perch, or Tazza Kitchen. End with a cocktail on the Hof rooftop overlooking the city. Link for list of all 15 breweries in Scotts included!
Our little City of Richmond actually gets some amazing rotating Exhibits! Check these out and enjoy a nice walk around the grounds and Main Street. Can walk to lunch at Barrio, PBR or 3 Monkeys for casual dining
Bike the VA capital trail! Pack a picnic and you can rent regular bikes (or electric bikes link included) and pick up the trail downtown and explore. End at Upper Shirley Vineyard (about 1.5 hour electric bike ride) and arrange for the electric bikes to be picked up and a ride home!
Start with coffee and a pastry at Sugar and Twine or smoothie/juice as the Pit and the Peel. Walk around the adorable shops (be sure to check out Traveling Chic Boutique) and restaurants (Daily Kitchen, Burger Bach, or Can Can) with outdoor seating. Grab a Carytown Cupcake as a sweet treat for dessert!
Start out at Millie’s Diner, WPA Bakery, Sub Rosa Bakery or Proper Pie co. Then walk around this historic area where Patrick Henry gave his 1775 “Give Me Liberty” speech at St. John’s Church. Grab a slice of pizza for lunch at 8 1/2, Anthony’s on the hill, or Alamo BBQ. Dinner options here include some of the best: Grisette, Alewife or the Roosevelt
