Our Wedding, 2023

Caleb and Maria’s story at Starbucks starts with Maria working at Starbucks in 2018. She got the job through her best friend and maid of honor, Mary Kessler. Maria and Mary had only been friends for six months at this point. Fast forward to 2021 and Caleb applies to Starbucks. Fun fact about Caleb, he does not like nor does he drink coffee at all but with COVID-19 at its peak, and Caleb’s job at GameStop nearing it’s end, he needed a job quick. Caleb and Maria first meet in February 2021, and the first interaction was short and sweet with just “hey” and “nice to meet you”. Quickly following Caleb’s first month at Starbucks, he and Maria grew more friendly with each other after each shift. They enjoyed laughing at each other’s dad jokes and puns, as well as simple facial expressions and head nods while pulling cold brew. With COVID-19 regulations still in full effect everyone on shift at the time wore masks, so Caleb and Maria only grew to know each other from the eyes up. For the longest time, Maria would try tirelessly to catch a peek of Caleb’s face when he takes off his mask in his car at the end of the shift, since they frequently park next to each other. It would become the banter that planted the seed of love between Caleb and Maria that grew into the blossoming romance it is today. After many outside-of-work hangouts as platonic friends and coworkers there would be a day when Caleb offers to accompany Maria to a concert at the last minute after a difficult time in her life. It was at this concert that Maria first saw Caleb without a mask for an extended period of time. Halfway through the show, Caleb put his arm around Maria’s shoulder during a slow and beautiful song and admitted to himself his feelings for Maria. At first he did it just so she could see the artist play on stage but his arm continued to rest on her shoulder and hold her close as the concert progressed. Every hangout with Maria after that concert would have an underlying and growing feeling of love and romantic affection between the two of them. A month later they are snuggling on the couch and both of them are unsure of what the other is thinking about the situation. Up until this point, the relationship on the outside has been platonic. Caleb breaks the silence and admits he wants to be more than friends. Maria admits the same and the rest is history!! 📙 Caleb and Maria at the concert! 👇🏻
