The cenotes for the Maya culture have been a symbol of duality since they represented life and death. They were a water source for the Maya cities and represented the gateway to the world of the dead: the Xibalbá. They are also a beautiful place to visit and swim amongst caves and these large cool freshwater pools.

Akumal Beach is a well known beach in Tulum for sea turtles and aquatic life, bring your snorkel equipment and head to the beach (no need to have to book a tour as many are naturally out swimming and/or sunbathing). Only about 20 minutes from our resort area.
