Beejal's Story: We both met at a marriage convention in Atlanta. My mom was adamant that I attend, but I was skeptical about going - Isn't it awkward to meet someone and immediately start discussing marriage? Anyways, I decided to make the most of it. I saw Nishant in his red shirt from across the room. When I mustered enough confidence (and after convincing a couple friends to join me), I walked over to him. His first comment to me after he said hello? He asked if I was 19 years old and what I was doing here. Not sure if you would call it love at first sight, but he won me over with his amazing smile and humor. Nishant's Story: My mother kept bugging me to sign up for this Gujarati speed dating convention that was taking place in Atlanta. It was getting tough to find like-minded individuals on my own, in my little city. I told her I signed up but never actually signed up for the event. Finally, not seeing a way around it, I decided to sign up last minute (a week before), and I was denied. I admitted this to my mother and she unleashed hell upon me. After reaching out to event coordinators and pleading (just to appease my mother), I was let into the event last minute. Of course, the unexpected happened. I met an energetic, quirky little girl. The rest is history. :)
