First date was at a Mexican restaurant in downtown Phoenix. Monday, May 28th (Memorial Day). Let's keep it real, if there is time off or a Holiday, Aurora loves to live in her bed with no intentions on getting 'dressed.' Aurora managed to get herself together. Daniel waited for Aurora outside the restaurant in what was already 100+ degree weather in AZ. Aurora found Daniel to be a total gentleman for waiting in the AZ heat. Daniel claims Aurora took his breathe away. We ate and talked for 4+ hours. The restaurant closed and we were the last ones there. Aurora and Daniel were kicked out. The REST is history!

Daniel had gotten together with a friend who is a photographer. Photographer friend claimed he needed practice and asked us to pose for him as a favor. Date, time and location were picked. The time came and there was a family incident, Aurora had to be with family. Daniel immediately was on the phone saying to all of our neighborhood group that the photoshoot (proposal) was not going to happen. We both made it to service the next day and Daniel was walking on pins and needles hoping no one would spill the beans. Photographer friend came up to us both at service and said, "Makeup session today?" Aurora said maybe because she still had to be with family, again it was a no go. Monday came around, another Holiday. Monday, January 21st (Martin Luther King Jr. Day). Daniel on his way to Aurora's house asked, "Can you please get dressed?" LOL. Daniel was not sharing where he wanted to go or do. We pull up to the CCV (Chirst's Church of the Valley) Peoria Campus. There is a hill on this campus where there is a huge cross at the top. Daniel had never been so he says to Aurora, "I just want to walk the hill with you." It was freezing cold, beyond windy for an AZ day. We get to the top and Daniel says can I pray for us? Aurora says "Of course." His prayer was about blessing us as a couple and the new year. Aurora asked "Can I pray?" Aurora's prayer is "Submission to her man and encourage him to be the leader of the relationship." After both prayers Daniel says "I also wanted to bring you up here to do this" and drops to one knee (insert tears galore)! What Daniel did not know is that every time Aurora went to the Peoria CCV campus and looked up at the hill she would say to herself and whisper to God, "What a perfect place for a proposal." Never sharing that with no one else, we both believe it was God bringing us to the hill and not the glamorous photoshoot Daniel had planned for the big proposal. #HisTiming

Aurora started a journey of one full year of NO DATING on February 2016 with her church. Pastor challenged 100 singles to date the Christian way. The challenge was named #CCV100. -no romance -no flirting -no hand holding -no kissing -no sex -no mental stalking the opposite sex To focus on God! To serve God! To know Him! As a Christian single, Aurora wanted to one day find a Godly spouse. Aurora's purpose for dating after CCV100 was: only to evaluate and find a mate. Aurora states; "God is going to prepare me and I pray on my way up to Him; God is preparing the man for me." 3 years later God sends Daniel. Our commitment and prayer is for God to continue growing us as individuals on our personal journeys. As a couple we pray the Lord uses us to help grow His Kingdom and bring people to Him. A POWER couple for the Lord. We remain strong in His Word and remain faithful to Him by remaining pure, not living together til we say "I DO." Today as we are engaged and planning our wedding: -no romance (YES! A ton of romance for one another) -no flirting (LOTS of flirting between us) -no hand holding (ALWAYS holding hands) -no kissing (MANY, MANY kisses) -no sex (NOPE, ZERO, NADA) -no mental stalking the opposite sex (Occasionally)
