How They Met

10.26.2007

As chance would have it, both Danielle and Adam elected to take a classical mythology course while in their senior year at Conrad Weiser High School. The story could have simply ended there, but instead, they were introduced to each other by a mutual friend a couple months into the school year. Not one to wait, Adam asked Danielle out to dinner that same night. Trying to not overdo it, they went to Isaac's for dinner and grabbed dessert at a local ice cream shop. Finally, to cap off the night, they saw "Dan in Real Life" at the movie theatre, which they didn't realize was a romantic comedy. For the next week or so, the two hung out every day. Fast forward exactly 10 years later...

The Proposal

10.26.2017

Danielle knew their anniversary was on Thursday, she also knew that they were going to Atlantic City Friday to celebrate 10 years, or so she thought. For their actual anniversary, Adam surprised her by taking her to Isaac's in downtown Lancaster for dinner, celebrating where it all started. She didn't realize they parked right in front of her favorite Lancaster ice cream spot, Lancaster Sweet Shoppe, naturally they went there next. While finishing her ice cream, Danielle timidly asked if there was another stop to make, to which Adam lied and said "no." As soon as they pulled into the parking lot of Zoetropolis, Danielle should've known what was going on. She didn't even have a clue when they were the only ones in the theatre just as she heard the opening music to that same movie they had seen together for the first time at 17 years old. After the longest movie of Adam's life was over, he handed her some gifts. She blew through the first one without even really looking at it, as she opened the second gift Adam got down on one knee and waited for her response. The second gift? A bottle of Bollinger Rose with "Will You Marry Me" engraved on it. It wasn't until this very moment that she knew she was going to be planning a wedding. They still went to Atlantic City, but it wasn't to celebrate the past, it was to celebrate the future.
