Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Just like any wedding, this is your excuse to dress a wee bit fancy (think garden party rather than James Bond). If you've ever been curious about wearing a kilt, now is the time - Scotsman or not! If you're keen but unsure where to start and want some advice on this, please just ask! Please keep in mind that the ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors (weather permitting) and we will be holding a ceilidh, so please no stilettos or uncomfortable shoes. It will be summer but the sun is not guaranteed - light layers may be helpful!

Question

I have a baby - will there be a quiet space for us if needed?

Answer

Yes, there are several rooms onsite that can be used as a relaxing, quiet space if needed. Just let a member of the bridal party know and they can show you to a quiet room.

Question

Is there a gift registry?

Answer

No, we do not have a gift registry. As we are travelling, we do not have much space for taking gifts. We appreciate you making the effort and financial commitment to join us in celebrating our wedding in Scotland. If you still feel like you'd like to give us something further, we have set up a website where you can chip in towards buying some things for our house. The website is www.ko-fi.com/samandbec If there's something specific you'd like to give us, please send it to PO Box 812, Littlehampton, South Australia 5250.

Question

Do I need to know Scottish dancing?

Answer

Not at all! Our ceilidh band are experienced in leading newbies and teaching the moves before each song, so whilst some basics could be an advantage, just have a go! You'll be in good company - most of the guests will be in the same boat! If you'd like any tips ahead of time, just ask us.
