Beau went to college with my sister Kimberly and we became friends. Years later we decided to go on a date and on that date we decided we were right for each other and wanted to pursue marriage shortly after. Beau proposed by chartering a sunset cruise at Bay Lake at Disney World for me, my sister, my mom, and my 1 year old nephew, Jackson, whom we both adore. We enjoyed desserts and drinks themed by Disney and right as the fireworks and “Happily Ever After” music started he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him with the most beautiful emerald cut diamond ring I had ever seen. We watched a lit up water parade all night on the lake. When we returned to the port, there was a beautiful “Just Engaged“ banner hung up along with balloons and memorabilia, including buttons and bride and groom Mickey and Minnie ears. This was incredibly special to me as Disney was a place I shared with my recently departed Daddy. I knew he was there with us that night. We have been through a lot together with my illness and many surgeries but have only grown closer through it all.
