Chris and Melanie met in band class when she moved to Arizona in 2008. At 13 years old, they started their relationship as friends and remained so until she moved to Georgia in 2010. They lost touch over the years, and neither one of them thought they’d ever see each other again.

11 years go by before Chris and Melanie reconnect through social media. Messages back and forth quickly turned into phone calls and video chats. Not long after, Chris booked a flight to Atlanta and a long distance relationship began. Chris moved to Georgia to be with Melanie and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

Asheville is one of Melanie’s favorite places and she was excited to take Chris there too. After wandering the grounds of the Biltmore Estate for the afternoon, they ended the day at the top of the hill overlooking the house where he asked her to be his wife.
