These two souls met while serving on the food pantry team at church. They stayed focused on serving and the mission at hand. Months later, Barry reached out to Colleen on a couple of occasions to check on her. On one of the occasions, he asked if he could bring her some Jamaican chicken soup since she wasn't feeling well. Although she had not heard of it, she agreed to try it. Over a cup of soup, they learned more about each other and found they had much in common starting with wanting to share God's love with others, singing, and music. They enjoy discussing biblical and world history and most of all, they like having a good laugh since laughter is medicine for the soul.
Barry and Colleen decided on a committed relationship from the beginning. However, even before they began their dating relationship, a dozen people at the church had thoughts and ideas about this couple getting together. One person told her husband nearly a year before they began dating, that she had an inner knowing that they would one day be together. Another couple suggested to Colleen to come to a church life group that Barry was going to. When asked why, the reply was "well there's a nice guy named Barry and he plays the guitar too". After a good chuckle, Colleen declined. Months later, after they started dating, they attended the life group together and while Barry played the guitar, Colleen sang along. They enjoy Christian (especially hymns) and classical music. Together they make beautiful music.
Barry and Colleen are on a mission to honor God, bless His people, and be used as His instruments for such a time as this. No weapon formed against them shall prosper, ever!
