FAQs

Question

Where can I stay in Omaha?

Answer

We have a hotel room block at the Farnam Hotel in downtown Omaha. This is the same hotel where the reception will be held. There are many hotels in downtown Omaha. Please see the travel section of our website for more information.

Question

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will start promptly at 2pm at St. John's Church on Creighton University's campus. Please try to arrive before 1:45 pm to grab a seat before the ceremony starts.

Question

What time does the reception start?

Answer

Cocktail hour will start at 5 pm. Please take some time between the ceremony and the reception to rest, relax, or explore downtown Omaha.

Question

Do I need to rent a car to get around Omaha?

Answer

No! Omaha's airport is located about a 5 minute drive from the Farnam Hotel and 10 minute drive to St. John's Church. Feel free to utilize ride sharing services like Uber and Lyft from the airport to the hotel. We will have a bus that can transport guests from the hotel to the church and back again. If you choose to drive, there is ample parking at the hotel. Parking on Creighton's campus can be difficult without a student parking permit during the academic year. Please plan accordingly and arrive to the ceremony early to ensure ample time to find parking if you plan on driving yourself.

Question

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is classy cocktail attire. Think mid-calf to floor length dresses, dressy jumpsuits, or a suit with a jacket and tie. Please keep in mind that we are getting married in a church and appreciate that our guests dress appropriately for our ceremony setting.

Question

Are children invited to the wedding?

Answer

Due to the limited capacity of our venue, we hope you understand that children are only invited if named. Your invitation will be made out to "The {Your Last Name} Family" if your children have been invited and "Mr. & Mrs." if only you and your significant other have been invited. However, we encourage you to use this evening as a "night out" for yourself! Please keep in mind that the food and music will be a mature reflection of us as a couple. For those of you who will be bringing your children, please be sure to watch them closely.
