Question

What is the "Harbor Float"?

Answer

The Harbor Float event space at Coasterra is a floating barge in the San Diego Harbor - surrounded by water on all 4 sides. The barge is anchored, so we will not be moving; however, it is still a floating space, so it is not entirely stationary. Rest assured most people cannot even notice the barge moving (they even host yoga classes on it!). Those who are very sensitive may choose to bring SeaBands or motion sickness medicine.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We recommend semi-formal attire. Gentleman, we do ask that you wear a jacket and tie. Ladies, cocktail dresses, gowns, and tea length dresses are great, as well as any jumpsuits, pants, etc.. We love to dance - so we definitely recommend comfortable shoes! There are heaters on the ceremony space, but it could get cool at night.

Question

Are children allowed?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony and reception is for adults-only.

Question

Can I bring a +1?

Answer

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate guests not indicated in the invitation, as the nature of the floating ceremony space has strict capacity. Rest assured that you will be seated with people you know!

Question

Is transportation provided?

Answer

There will be one way transportation provided from the Sheraton for those staying at the hotel. This trolley will arrive at 4:15pm. Please be outside ready for pickup, as the trolley will not wait. Other transportation, including return transport, will not be provided. Ubers and Lyfts are well accommodated in the area, as it is very close to the airport. Please know that if you choose to drive, Coasterra is a Valet Only establishment.

Question

What is the "Dollar Dance?"

Answer

The "Dollar Dance" is a Polish tradition celebrated for generations by the mother of the bride's family. All of the guests line up to briefly dance with the bride and offer money to the newlywed couple, which is collected into an apron. Fun Fact: While traditionally an apron is held, the bride's mother made the special wedding bag out of her own wedding dress and veil.
