Just a quick note from the couple

We are aware that scheduling time away from family and work may pose challenges, especially on short notice, so if this time of the year does not fit into your current situation we sincerely understand and hope to see you all soon. This wedding will be a very small celebration of our love and commitment to one another. The ceremony will be a simple affair - no bells and whistles... not even chairs! (We'll keep it short!) The same applies for our reception. We will have some food, a little music, and a little dessert. And there will be chairs! ;) If you are unable to make it, we completely understand, and gladly accept your prayers and warm wishes from afar! Thank you again for your continuous love & support, & we look forward to celebrating with you all - near or far!

How We Met

Depends on who you ask....

Ask Amy and she'll shoot it to you straight: we met on Bumble - a dating app. Ask Tyler and he'll give you more of a literal answer... We met at a Taste of Utah event in downtown Salt Lake City... which is true, that was our first date and the place where we met for the very first time. On our first date we cruised around The Gateway, sampling beer and street tacos from the local food trucks, and ended up talking for 4 hours. Not a bad first impression! From there, our spark has turned into a deep connection and friendship as we've navigated Amy's ACL surgery, the "pandemic," Tyler's deployment to Africa, Amy's job change, and a million other little life moments in between. On New Year's Eve, we were supposed to be on a yurt glamping trip with our friends, but instead, it got cancelled due to weather. After chatting with our friends, Stazia and Colby, all day on how we could still celebrate the weekend, Stazia threw out the idea of going ice skating before heading to their house for games & grilling out. We went to the Gallivan Center in downtown SLC, to skate outdoors. It was lightly snowing and such a fun time! Towards the end of our ice skating excursion, Tyler and I were skating around the rink together. The entire time he did not want to hold hands, in fear that we'd both fall down, so I was confused when he kept trying to hold my hand. I was getting tired, and skating slow was making it worse, so I kept speeding up and Tyler was practically racing to get to me. Eventually, he pulled me to the side of the rink, and there, on NYE, he got down on one knee (pretty impressive on the ice!) and proposed! I was so shocked, just sure that he wasn't going to propose on ice. Fast forward 2 weeks... and well... we couldn't wait! We knew we wanted to get married for a while, and decided to elope. Part 1 was the courthouse, but Part 2 will be the celebration!
