Amanda and Alex met in early September 2013 in the Courthouse neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia. They were both interns at the same organization, and Amanda was working at the front desk when Alex stopped by before his first day on the job. They didn’t exchange numbers that day, but it was obvious to both of them that it wouldn’t be the last time they talked at length. In the years since, Amanda and Alex took countless amounts of walks around DC, spent nights sitting in the back of the Lincoln Memorial looking out at the cars crossing the Memorial Bridge, and enjoyed dinners at fun places like Old Ebbitt Grill (their favorite dinner spot). Over the years, Alex made an effort to turn Amanda into a Pittsburgh sports fan (still a work in progress) and Amanda turned Alex into a Florida Boy. They both love God, the beach, coffee, debating politics, the simple things in life, and each other. They are best friends, and on a perfect August night as the sun was setting at Brant Point in Nantucket, Alex got down on a knee and asked Amanda to be his wife. She said “Yes!” before he could get the whole thing out. The rest is history.
We are going to do our best to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible but we encourage you to only come if you are comfortable. The wedding ceremony will be inside the church, cocktails will be outside, but dinner and dancing will be inside. We will plan to seat people with those that are in their family or who they traveled in with. We will have a livestream option of the ceremony for those that cannot attend or do not feel comfortable traveling.
