How We Met

Bring on the blind date!

My friend, Olivia, was determined to find that special someone for me. I was eating dinner one night with Olivia and a couple other friends when Beth recommended Olivia ask Dustin (her brother-in-law) if he knew anyone at his job who they could set me up with. Then came the pictures and me agreeing to Adam. Adam, however, thought the right amount of time to wait to reach out to me was multiple weeks. With Olivia's persistence and I'm assuming a talk from Dustin (thanks Dustin), Adam finally messaged me. Then came our first date about a week later! He planned it all and didn't tell me anything. After our long drive (with me talking nonstop), Adam pulled into Pintails. Unfortunately, there was a live band that night and we were seated right next to the stage. So we tried our best to hear each other and laughed it off in the truck. Thankfully it was good enough for a second date and now forever!

How He Engaged

Second Time's a Charm

After Adam and I picked out my ring together, I was expecting a proposal on a daily basis. This, of course, made it very difficult for Adam to surprise me. On the Fourth of July, we had plans to visit Little Rock to watch a baseball game and firework show with my sister and her family. Because I had to work the next day and the firework show wasn't going to begin until much later than we had expected, I asked Adam if we could head back home before the fireworks started. Like the kind man he is, he agreed. I found out later that Adam had planned to propose during the fireworks. Fast forward a couple weeks, we are planning to go to church on Sunday morning. Adam serves me breakfast as well as adoption papers for my dog, Milo. So I sign them and slightly expect a proposal then but nothing else comes. Right before we are about to leave for church, Adam takes Milo outside and then my friends Ben and Rachael show up at the apartment. When Adam and Milo come back in, Adam hands me an envelope he found outside. The paper inside says "Mom, will you marry my new dad?" with Milo's paw print in ink. Adam gets down on one knee, asks me the easiest question I've ever answered, and now here we are! Shout out to Rachael for the pictures!
