Auston and Selena met the summer before their sophomore year at the University of Northern Iowa, where they were both involved in Greek life and shared many mutual friends. That summer in 2015, Auston invited Selena to a party, and there they discovered they would be living in the same dorm building. This is where their story began. They soon realized their dorm rooms were only a floor apart, almost directly above each other. As they started hanging out more, they quickly developed feelings for each other. Auston eventually asked Selena on a date, and they fell in love soon after. From that point on, Auston and Selena became inseparable, spending nearly every night together, eating pizza, and talking and laughing for hours. It was clear early on that they were meant to be together. Even when Auston had to move to Annapolis and Palo Alto for work during Selena’s final years of school, they stayed strong and in love. Selena’s support during this challenging time apart only strengthened their bond. After Selena graduated in 2018, they moved to Austin, Texas, to start a new adventure. For the past six years, they’ve built a beautiful life together, along with their two cats, Monte and Olive, and their dog, Birdie. They’ve shared incredible trips from Maui to Aruba and beyond, with plans to continue exploring the world together. In 2025, they will celebrate 10 years of love, with a lifetime of memories yet to come.

Auston planned an unforgettable trip to Tulum, Mexico, knowing how much Selena loved the destination. To make it even more special, he invited her family to join them, but Selena had no idea what else he had in store. When they arrived, Auston surprised Selena by revealing that they wouldn’t be staying at a hotel—instead, he had rented a luxurious beachfront villa tucked away in the Tulum jungle. The villa exceeded all of Selena’s expectations, complete with a butler, chef, and full-time staff. She felt like a princess from the moment they arrived. On the first day, they spent time enjoying the villa’s rooftop pool, breathtaking beach views, and lush jungle gardens. After lunch, Auston casually mentioned they were going to take family photos by the pool. Selena agreed, though she was shocked to learn she had less than an hour to get ready! She had no idea what was coming. When they reached the pool, Auston led her to a beautiful setup adorned with flowers and candles, with her family standing nearby, smiling. Then, Auston got down on one knee and asked Selena to marry him. Overwhelmed with joy, she screamed 'yes!' as her family cheered. Auston had also arranged for a photographer and videographer to capture the moment, ensuring they could cherish the memory forever. Selena was completely surprised and happier than ever—it was the best moment of her life. As if the day couldn’t get more perfect, a rainbow appeared in the sky after the proposal. Selena and Auston both felt it was a sign from her late grandmother, Diane, who had passed away just months earlier.
