What is the easiest way to get to and from the castle?
Answer
Hedingham castle is in the countryside of Essex so public transportation isn’t as frequent. If you are staying at the hotel in Brentwood, as we recommend, we will be in charge of transportation to take everyone to the wedding on Tuesday and back to the hotel after the night.

where should we stay while we are in England?
Answer
The host hotel is linked in the travel page. We would highly recommend staying in this area, or Upminster, Hornchurch, or Havering as the Castle is in the countryside and not much to do around the area. All of those towns are about an hour and 15 mins away from the castle. And about a hour away from London by train. but after the wedding on the 20th, you can stay in London or do whatever you’d like.

When should we arrive in England? And for how long should we stay?
Answer
The wedding is on a Tuesday so I would recommend at least a few days before as jet lag is real!! You fly during the night so will arrive next morning. We recommend staying in England for at least 7 days (since the flight is so long and you can go explore London!!!) but of course you can do what you’d like. We are planning on all going into London together by train Saturday, the 17th and Sunday, the 18th before the wedding to all go explore together, do touristy things, and so we can show you all around. So please let us know what day you will be arriving as we would love for you all to join. You will love London!!

When should we book flights?
Answer
As soon as you can! But definitely before the summer as it’s holiday time in the UK so flights book up! Let me know as soon as you book flights.

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Answer
Depending on weather, fingers crossed it doesn’t rain, the ceremony will be outdoors and the reception will be indoors in the castle.

What will the weather look like during August?
Answer
Summer is the best time to be in the UK because the weather usually is wonderful.. but don’t be surprised if it rains..

What kind of food will be served?
Answer
Tea, coffee, and soft drinks on arrival. Three course dinner, wine and drinks to be served during the reception. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies.

Where should we bring/ send our wedding gift?
Answer
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can have it delivered to our home. A wedding card box will also be at our reception.

What is the dress code for the wedding?
Answer
Garden Formal. Ladies please wear floral dresses/ prints, pastel colors, or summery. Men please wear a lighter shade suit/ sport coat or linen.

How do we get around while we are in England?
Answer
You do not need to rent a car (unless you want to). Public transportation is huge in the UK, there are buses and trains that are easily accessible.
